- CCA wires do not conform to the American Wire Gauge (AWG) standard
- AWG is designed for Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) wires
- High current applications assuming AWG standard should use OFC wires
- CCA wires are designed for low current applications (e.g., signal processing)
- Resistance Information:
- CCA wires have higher resistance than OFC wires
- When using CCA, reduce the gauge size by 2 to achieve a similar electrical resistance as OFC wires.
